Zapier and Make are SaaS — data sits outside the EU, pricing scales with workflow volume. n8n runs on your server, is open source, and you pay once for setup instead of per-run forever.
Do we need our own server?
We recommend Hetzner Cloud in Falkenstein/Nuremberg (from ~€5/month). Alternatively your own server or Azure/AWS in EU region. We set it up wherever you want.
